There are many facets to the programme which can be read in detail on the Brent Cross Cricklewood 'About the BXC project' site, this is where it breaks down how the £4 Billion pound plan will be implemented.
The redevelopment will happen across 370 acres of land and has already started with the first foundations being placed at the new Brent Cross West railway station. The new station will cost £40 million pounds and will connect to Kings Cross St Pancras in under 15 minutes and offer direct rail services to Luton and Gatwick airports.
Another key place of development is Cricklewood Broadway, in September 2020 infrastructure improvements began on the A5 Edgware road junction with more work planned to enable the regeneration of the Cricklewood area.
'New town centre providing 7,500 new homes, commercial and retail spaces, arts and culture facilities, greener spaces, and improved schools and healthcare facilities'
All of this builds towards what is being called a 'new park town for Barnet' with 50 acres dedicated to parks and playing fields in a hope to reinvent the image of Cricklewood, attracting potential investors and families to the area who are looking for property with good links to the city and at the right price with the potential for growth with every improvement to the area.
This area is already a popular location with Brent Cross Shopping Centre pulling in a large community and with these proposed works it could really make Brent Cross and Cricklewood the new 'value' location to live.
